  • How do I know if I need therapy?
If you're struggling with maintaining a routine, coping with a life transition, changing patterns of behavior, or seeing the same issues come up in your relationships, therapy is a great place for you to learn how to make adjustments. Therapy is also beneficial for maintenance or preventative care. A free 15 minute consultation can help determine if Headscarves & Healing is the right fit for you.
  • How do I know if this is the right fit?
Firstly, we will have a free 15 minute consult call where you can gauge your comfortability with my approach, ask questions and essentially do a vibe check. The consultation call is commitment free and by the end of the call, we will decide if we move forward based on fit. The most important thing is for you to see yourself being able to grow here. We will chat more in depth about your concerns during the first meeting to make sure our approach works for you.
  • Do you take insurance?
Yes, we accept Cigna, Aetna, Anthem BCBS of Georgia, Regence Blue Shield of Washington, Optum and Anthem EAP at the moment. If you have any questions about coverage, feel free to reach out and we'll be happy to assist you.
  • What are your fees?
Individual therapy sessions for children and adults are priced at $150 per hour, while couples and family sessions are $165 per hour.
  • What other options do I have if you don't take my insurance?
If we do not accept your insurance, we would be considered an out-of-network provider. In this case, you would pay for sessions out-of-pocket using a credit card, debit card, or online payment platform. We will provide you with a superbill (an itemized receipt), which you can submit to your insurance company to request full or partial reimbursement, depending on your out-of-network benefits. Please feel free to reach out so we can help you explore the best option for your needs.
  • What should I expect in the first session?
In your first session, we'll get to know each other and talk about what's been going on in your life and what you want to get out of therapy. We'll review your intake paperwork and discuss topics like your background, current concerns, and how I can be the most effective. This is an opportune time for you to ask any questions you have. It's a relaxed and supportive conversation to help you feel comfortable and understood.
  • How long does therapy last & how often do we meet?
Therapy duration varies based on individual needs and goals, however a majority of clients are usually in therapy for 5-8 months. Typically, sessions are scheduled weekly or biweekly, though frequency can be adjusted depending on progress and personal circumstances.
