Hello

Welcome! My name is Kiana Gandy, a licensed professional counselor in Georgia and Washington state. I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Georgia State University and a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology and Sociology from Western Washington University. I specialize in supporting adolescents, teens and adults through various mental health challenges and life transitions.

My early clinical experience began at a foster care agency, where I worked closely with children displaying challenging behaviors, provided parenting support, and connected families with essential community resources to strengthen their home environments. I then expanded my expertise at both a children's advocacy center and private practice, where I gained extensive experience in both individual and family therapy. The diverse supervision and mentorship I received throughout my career have provided me with a wealth of knowledge that I integrate into my work with every client, ranging from ages 5 to 55.

When working with adults, I especially enjoy working with work/life integration, helping clients cultivate greater presence in both their professional and personal lives. I'm passionate about helping people break free from the exhausting cycle of people-pleasing tendencies that may be limiting their personal growth. Additionally, I am passionate about working with men and women who are ready to dive into inner child work—exploring past experiences and fostering a deeper sense of self-understanding.

I’m committed to supporting kids in expanding their emotional vocabulary to enhance self-expression and the development of a healthy self-concept. I help children process difficult experiences, such as the emotional impact of a divorce or separation, anxiety, traumatic experiences, and race-related stressors. My goal is to help children, by partnering with parents, to build confidence, awareness and  to support children in developing healthy behaviors and a resilient sense of self.

As an integrative therapist, I combine various therapeutic approaches to meet your unique needs.

My practice is client-centered, flexible, and holistic, addressing emotional, mental, physical, social, and spiritual well-being. I utilize techniques from person centered, cognitive-behavioral, trauma informed and solution focused therapy approaches. With my compassionate and personable approach, my goal is to create a comfortable space for discussing uncomfortable topics.

A Little About Me

I grew up in Seattle, Washington, alongside my two sisters and two incredibly loving parents. From an early age, I loved creative problem-solving and being part of a team. I played sports all throughout my life and can't express how helpful they were. Playing college basketball taught me the importance of clear communication, resilience, and bringing out the best in others — lessons that naturally found their way into my work as a therapist.

Outside of the therapy room, you’ll probably find me listening to true crime podcasts, traveling, tending to my plants, googling new restaurants, or getting lost in meaningful conversations. I genuinely love connecting with people and witnessing the ways they grow and find deeper self-understanding. It would be a true honor to support you on your journey and be part of your team.
